Job Title: NOC Network Operations Expert

Job Overview:

The NOC Network Operations Expert plays a vital role in ensuring the reliability, stability and performance of network services.

This involves continuously monitoring network operations, responding to incidents and optimizing overall network efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Network Monitoring: Continuously monitor network infrastructure and services for performance, availability and stability issues.
  • Incident Response: Respond promptly to alerts, assess event severity and take appropriate actions to resolve issues.
  • Troubleshooting and Resolution: Troubleshoot and resolve network-related incidents and customer faults within agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Stakeholder Communication: Maintain clear communication with stakeholders and customers regarding incident updates and resolutions.
  • Documentation and Knowledge Sharing: Provide accurate updates in the incident tracking tool and collaborate with relevant teams to minimize the likelihood of incidents reoccurring.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve network efficiency and performance.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Technical Expertise: 2-5 years' experience in telecommunications, preferably in technical roles involving network management, equipment configuration and fault resolution processes.
  • Network Management: Ability to monitor voice network systems using NMS tools and ticketing platforms.
  • Hardware Support: Experience configuring and supporting voice hardware, including routers, switches, SBCs and IP phones.
  • Platform Knowledge: Working knowledge of Cisco Call Manager, Avaya, Asterisk and Genesys platforms.
  • Troubleshooting: Troubleshooting skills in packet analysis, call flow tracing and fault isolation.
  • Communication: Strong written and communication skills, with the ability to present technical information clearly to different audiences.
  • Problem-Solving: Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills to address operational challenges.
