About The Team
The Social Infrastructure & Citizen Services division is responsible for the strategic thinking, construction, maintenance, and ongoing support of Australia's and New Zealand's crucial public assets, facilities, and community services. Our operations are centered around the communities we serve, whether through managing critical public assets, upgrading precincts, implementing new energy solutions, or providing professional and technical advisory services. We oversee healthcare and educational facilities, custodial centers, and manage customer data centers and essential systems. Our expertise extends to asset management through our portfolio of Public Private Partnership (PPP) contracts, and we are a trusted partner to the Australian and New Zealand Defence Forces.
Position Overview
We are currently seeking a HSE Administrator to support the Riverina Redevelopment Joint Venture (RRJV), a collaborative effort between Downer and CPB Contractors focused on significant upgrades and replacements of existing infrastructure and facilities.
This role requires candidates with NV1 Security Clearance to contribute to the redevelopment project, which encompasses various military areas.
Key Responsibilities
- Effectively communicate safety protocols to subcontractors on-site.
- Evaluate Subcontractor Safety Interview Questionnaires to ensure subcontractors meet safety standards for their assigned tasks.
- Monitor progress against defined roles and responsibilities, providing updates to the project leadership team.
- Maintain a visible presence across the workplace, fostering relationships with internal stakeholders.
- Promote a culture of safety within the Project Management team, actively participating in its development to ensure HSE remains a priority.
- Assist the project team in integrating safety considerations throughout project planning and execution, implementing necessary safety measures.
- Ensure adherence to all applicable legal and regulatory requirements, as well as Company and Group policies and procedures.
Qualifications
Essential Skills and Experience
- Possession or ability to obtain Government Security Clearance (Australian citizen) – a requirement.
- Advanced Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent qualification.
- Relevant experience in an administrative capacity.
- Understanding of project risk management controls and strategies.
- Familiarity with auditing, safety inspections, and compliance reporting processes.
- Experience with document compliance procedures and knowledge of technology supporting SHE (Q) systems.
- Knowledge of incident management and reporting involving multiple stakeholders.
- Recent experience as a Safety Administrator in the civil construction sector.
