About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Chief Health Information Manager to join our team at Albury Wodonga Health (AWH), the largest regional health service between Sydney and Melbourne.

This critical management position plays a vital role in ensuring effective health record practices are developed and maintained to provide quality information for patient care, health service planning, and management.

We are progressing an exciting Hume Region Digital Health Strategy, with a regional new Patient Administration System being implemented and EMR on the roadmap. To be successful in this role, you will need significant experience and exposure to new innovation and development in Health Information Service systems, specifically EMR, electronic document systems, record management, data management, and Health Informatics.

You will be adaptable to change and able to explore and initiate new ways of working in line with technological developments and service requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain effective health record practices to provide quality information for patient care, health service planning, and management.
  • Lead the implementation of the Hume Region Digital Health Strategy, including the new Patient Administration System and EMR.
  • Build and lead a skilled and motivated team in Health Information Management.
  • Maintain a diverse stakeholder group and develop high-level interpersonal skills.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including verbal, written, and presentation skills.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Health Information Management or equivalent and eligibility for full membership of the Health Information Management Association of Australia (HIMAA).
  • Demonstrated experience in building and leading a skilled and motivated team.
  • Sound knowledge of activity-based funding.
  • Demonstrated high-level interpersonal skills to develop, refine, and maintain a diverse stakeholder group.
  • Demonstrated high-level communication (verbal, written) and presentation skills.
