The Operations Director is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a 1800-GOT-JUNK? franchise located in Osborne Park. This individual will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth execution of our services, maximizing efficiency, and driving profitability.



Key Responsibilities


The successful candidate will be accountable for:



  • Ensuring all operations are carried out in a cost-effective and efficient manner, with a focus on business growth and performance.
  • Improving operational management systems, processes, and best practices to drive excellence.
  • Maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements and ensuring that all staff are aware of their responsibilities in this regard.
  • Delivering exceptional customer service and employee experience through effective leadership and mentoring.


Specific Duties


The Operations Director will be responsible for:



  • Executing company strategy, improving performance, ensuring compliance, and overseeing daily operations.
  • Mentoring team members, identifying opportunities to increase quality of customer service, and implementing best practices across all levels.
  • Planning and overseeing daily route efficiencies for truck teams, ensuring that they are fully equipped and trained to meet customer needs.
  • Driving strategic and operational objectives, examining financial data to improve profitability, and managing budgets and forecasts.
  • Understanding all business KPIs and monitoring them regularly to identify areas for improvement.
  • Recruiting, training, and supervising staff, ensuring that they follow safety regulations and adhere to company policies.
  • Overseeing truck fleet checks and maintenance, championing ways to increase quality of customer service, and promoting a positive work environment.
  • Supervising a team of 10-15 Truck Team Members, motivating them to achieve their goals, and ensuring high-quality execution of all jobs.
  • Reviewing job schedules, ensuring sufficient resources, and efficiently scheduling booked jobs.
  • Leading team meetings, fostering a work environment that values 'All About People', and promoting open communication and collaboration.


Requirements


To succeed in this role, you will need:



  • A Degree in Business, Operations Management, or a related field (desired but not required).
  • 2+ years of operations management experience, overseeing similar duties as outlined above.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong leadership ability, and a valid driver's license (truck license preferable).
  • Background Check compliant and tech-savvy.
  • Proven work experience as an Operations Manager, Dispatcher, or similar role, knowledge of organizational effectiveness, and operations management.
  • Familiarity with business and financial principles, excellent communication skills, and leadership ability.


Salary Range


$60,000 - $80,000 per annum, depending on experience.
