Customs Clearance Specialist

Job Description- To prepare customs clearance declarations for submission to customs in compliance with national regulatory provisions and adhere to company policies and procedures.
- Accurately classify and value import and export products for customs clearance.
- Update systems databases with accurate information.
- Ensure shipments are cleared within specified timeframes in line with approved Key Performance Indicators.
- Liaise professionally and cordially with customers both internally and externally.
- Respond to queries in a timely manner as defined by standard operational procedure.
- Complete designated training within specified timeframes.
- Assist with transport operations, including booking deliveries, billings, and accounting.
- Perform tasks as requested, including assisting in general brokerage operations.
- Be responsible for all aspects of the job to the Brokerage Manager.
- Australian Customs Brokers License, or obtain within 12 months of application.
- Knowledge of Government Regulations.
- Standard Operational Procedures for Customs Import Operations.
- ICS and Third Party Systems.
- Good geographical knowledge.
- Accounting knowledge.
- International freight shipping terms.
- Possess elements of Expeditors Attributes and Culture.
- Embrace Expeditors Mission statement.
- General Mathematical knowledge, including dealing with Exchange Rates, Foreign Currency, and General Ledger.
- Complete understanding of the movement of Goods.
