Customs Clearance Specialist

Job Description
  • To prepare customs clearance declarations for submission to customs in compliance with national regulatory provisions and adhere to company policies and procedures.
  • Accurately classify and value import and export products for customs clearance.
  • Update systems databases with accurate information.
  • Ensure shipments are cleared within specified timeframes in line with approved Key Performance Indicators.
  • Liaise professionally and cordially with customers both internally and externally.
  • Respond to queries in a timely manner as defined by standard operational procedure.
  • Complete designated training within specified timeframes.
  • Assist with transport operations, including booking deliveries, billings, and accounting.
  • Perform tasks as requested, including assisting in general brokerage operations.
  • Be responsible for all aspects of the job to the Brokerage Manager.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Australian Customs Brokers License, or obtain within 12 months of application.
  • Knowledge of Government Regulations.
  • Standard Operational Procedures for Customs Import Operations.
  • ICS and Third Party Systems.
  • Good geographical knowledge.
  • Accounting knowledge.
  • International freight shipping terms.
  • Possess elements of Expeditors Attributes and Culture.
  • Embrace Expeditors Mission statement.
  • General Mathematical knowledge, including dealing with Exchange Rates, Foreign Currency, and General Ledger.
  • Complete understanding of the movement of Goods.
  • Road Transport Operational knowledge.
