Logistics Operations Lead

Job Summary:

The Logistics Operations Lead is a key role responsible for overseeing all logistics operations, ensuring activities are carried out safely, efficiently, and cost-effectively. This role plays a pivotal part in driving continuous improvement across the function.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support a high-performing logistics team to achieve operational excellence
  • Ensure a safe, secure, and compliant working environment through effective risk management and compliance processes
  • Develop and enforce clear policies, procedures, and documented practices to maintain quality standards
  • Maintain team capability through training, development, and succession planning to ensure long-term sustainability
  • Oversee all logistics functions including receipt, storage, distribution, and equipment maintenance to optimize efficiency and productivity
  • Ensure goods are processed, inspected, and recorded accurately and in a timely manner to meet customer expectations
  • Deliver excellent customer service through timely order fulfilment and clear communication to build strong relationships
  • Identify and lead continuous improvement initiatives while managing operational risks to drive business growth

Requirements:

  • 7+ years relevant Supply Chain, Logistics experience within a manufacturing or Defence organisation
  • Strong understanding and working experience in a computerised ERP environment
  • Strong leader and coach, with excellent communication, interpersonal and people management skills to inspire and motivate teams
