Medical Laboratory Technician

This is a highly skilled role that requires the ability to perform laboratory testing, maintain equipment and ensure compliance with quality standards.

The successful candidate will have strong analytical skills and be able to work efficiently in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform laboratory testing in biochemistry, haematology and immunohaematology departments.
  • Maintain analyzers, quality control and ensure compliance with NATA accreditation as directed by senior staff.
  • Deliver high-quality pathology services within specified timeframes while meeting client expectations.

Requirements:

  • Minimum qualification of Diploma in Laboratory Technology or equivalent from a recognized tertiary institution with subjects relevant to pathology or medical laboratory operations.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in delivering pathology services within a discipline relevant to the department, including use of Laboratory Information Systems, Patient Systems, and Quality Systems.
  • Ability to work efficiently, manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Teamwork skills, autonomy and ability to deliver results within specified timeframes while meeting client expectations.
  • Customer-focused approach with excellent interpersonal skills, oral and written communication skills and ability to communicate effectively with customers, patients and clinical laboratory staff.
