As a Medical Laboratory Scientist, you will be working in the field of Anatomical Pathology. Your primary focus will be on pre-analytical and cut-up activities.
Key Responsibilities- Manage specimens from triage to dissection, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
- Lead the team in specimen reception and cut-up areas, maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.
- Work closely with pathologists to ensure high-quality specimen management.
Develop your skills in specimen dissection and direct transfer. Oversee staff working in the specimen reception and cut-up areas.
Essential Skills and Qualifications- Bachelor's Degree in Science or Medical Laboratory Science, with relevant subjects.
- Postgraduate study in specimen dissection or extensive experience in complex specimen dissection.
- High-level written and verbal communication skills, with familiarity with anatomical pathology terminology.
- Initiative, self-direction, and commitment to ongoing learning and development.
- Sound decision-making capability and unblemished track record in specimen handling and patient safety.
- Experience working collaboratively as part of a team and autonomously.
- Understanding of pre-analytical and specimen cut-up requirements in a diagnostic laboratory.
