Job Title: Student Counsellor

Job Summary: St Andrews Christian College is seeking a dedicated and empathetic Student Counsellor to join our Wellbeing Staff. This permanent part-time position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of our students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide vital support and guidance to students, promoting emotional well-being and fostering a positive and inclusive school environment.
  • Develop and implement proactive strategies to support student mental health and well-being.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external professionals to provide holistic care for students.
  • Conduct risk assessments and crisis interventions when necessary, ensuring the safety of students at all times.
  • Deliver workshops and seminars on topics related to mental health, resilience, and interpersonal skills.
  • Maintain accurate records of counselling sessions while respecting confidentiality and privacy guidelines.

Requirements:

  • Excellent communication skills and a compassionate nature.
  • Ability to build trust with students from diverse backgrounds.
  • Relevant qualification in counselling or psychology.
  • Demonstrated experience in a similar role within an educational setting.
