Senior Youth Counsellor

The Senior Youth Counsellor is a key member of the Chisholm Institute of TAFE's Student Support and Engagement department, responsible for providing high-quality support services to students. This role requires a strong understanding of the needs of young people and the ability to develop and implement effective strategies to promote their wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities- Student Support and Case Management: Provide individual and group support to students, including crisis intervention and case management.
- Wellbeing Program Development: Develop and implement wellbeing programs and initiatives to promote student engagement and retention.
- Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of counsellors and support staff to ensure high-quality service delivery.
- Collaboration and Partnerships: Build and maintain partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to promote student wellbeing and engagement.
- Professional Development: Stay up-to-date with best practices in student support and wellbeing, and provide training and professional development opportunities for team members.
- Qualifications: A tertiary qualification in a relevant field, such as psychology, social work, or counselling.
- Experience: A minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role, with a strong understanding of the needs of young people and the ability to develop and implement effective strategies to promote their wellbeing.
- Registration: Eligible for registration or membership with a relevant professional association, such as PACFA, ACA, or AASW.
