Health Safety and Quality Management Specialist

The role of Health, Safety and Quality Management Specialist is to lead the design, development, maintenance and implementation of HSEQ management systems and documents. This includes ensuring operations meet legislative, regulatory and certification standards, while supporting continuous improvement and operational excellence.

This position requires a deep understanding of HSEQ principles and practices, as well as strong leadership and communication skills. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating, updating and reviewing procedures and management plans, as well as developing and maintaining HSEQ policies, procedures and process development.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Creating, updating and reviewing procedures and management plans;
  • Developing and maintaining HSEQ policies, procedures and process development;
  • Ensuring alignment with legislation, certification standards and strategic goals;
  • Meeting regulatory, statutory and client specific requirements;
  • Managing updates to the BMS within the Management of Change framework;
  • Collaborating with internal stakeholders to ensure system integration and compliance;
  • Promoting best practices and compliance;
  • Mitigating risks and supporting regulatory outcomes;
  • Reporting on compliance findings and recommending practical solutions;
  • Coordinating and providing training and education on process, procedures and adherence to compliance.
Requirements

Previous experience in HSEQ systems development and compliance is essential, as is a proven track record in facilitation, mentoring and stakeholder engagement. Qualifications in workplace Health and Safety and/or Risk Management are highly regarded. A working knowledge of relevant legislative requirements and quality management knowledge (quality assurance and quality control) are also necessary.
