Job Overview

The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of safety, health and environmental quality across multiple work fronts.

This role involves working in a challenging construction environment, requiring strong leadership skills to motivate and mentor work crews.

Key responsibilities include overseeing day-to-day safety, implementing HSE management plans and driving innovative initiatives. Effective communication is also crucial in engaging with employees and various stakeholders at pre-start consultations, toolbox meetings and hazard reviews.

The successful candidate will conduct site inspections, report findings and ensure the implementation of corrective actions as required. They will also manage incident reports and investigations in consultation with the project management team.

Maintaining registers, training records and site safety systems is another key aspect of this role. Additionally, managing VOCs and training requirements will be an essential responsibility.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 4 years' experience as an HSE Advisor in construction projects on remote sites.
  • Previous experience in telecommunication and infrastructure projects is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail, excellent communication and report writing skills are essential.
  • A Cert IV in training and assessment qualification is required.
  • The ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines, while being well-organised and focused, is critical.
  • Excellent customer service skills and a team-oriented approach are necessary.
  • Proficiency in building strong internal relationships and a valid driver's licence are also required.
  • A current first aid qualification is necessary.
