We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Family Violence Support Specialist to join our team at the Magistrates' Court of Victoria. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in supporting Affected Family Members during their court process.
Key Responsibilities- Assess applicants' immediate non-legal needs and conduct risk assessments and safety planning
- Provide applicants with information and referrals to external service providers as needed
- Establish and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including Judiciary, Court Registrars, and community-based organisations
- Utilise the MARAM framework and share risk-relevant information under the Family Violence Information Sharing Scheme to support the management of risk and safety to Affected Family Members
- A relevant tertiary qualification in a related discipline such as social work, psychology, or social sciences
- Demonstrated experience and knowledge of Family Violence, including drivers, risks, and issues that can exacerbate family violence risk
- Sound skills in the provision of support, crisis containment, risk assessment, and stakeholder engagement
- Ongoing supervision and professional development
