Family Violence Specialist Advisor
About the Role
The Family Violence Specialist Advisor will lead, promote, and implement service-wide responses to all aspects of family violence in liaison with the Western Health Family Violence team.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategies to ensure the Mental Health and Wellbeing division meets its legislative requirements in the practice area of family violence.
- Build the capacity of Western Health Mental Health and Wellbeing staff to identify and respond to consumers experiencing family violence.
- Collaborate with the Western Health Family Violence team to provide a comprehensive response to family violence.
- Contribute to the development of policies and procedures related to family violence.
Requirements
- Extensive experience working with family violence and/or within specialist family violence services.
- Ability to articulate and apply a practice framework focused on engagement and assessment, including extensive knowledge and experience of risk assessment frameworks in the context of family violence.
- Working knowledge of the recommendations of the Royal Commission into Family Violence and the Royal Commission into Mental Health Services.
- Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the principles of equity, diversity, continual improvement, risk management, and occupational health and safety.
- Highly developed written and oral communication skills, including accurately recording data, correspondence, reporting, and providing written and oral evidence as required.
