Strategic Communications Officer Role

The department seeks a highly skilled Strategic Communications Officer to join its APS 6 Senior Communications team in the Strategic Communications branch.

As an integral member of this diverse and collaborative Federal Government Department, you will deliver high-quality communication strategies and provide expert advice on public awareness campaigns for departmental programs and projects.

This role involves building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, developing and implementing effective communication plans, and evaluating performance metrics.

Key responsibilities include managing stakeholder expectations, creating engaging content, and supporting cross-functional teams through collaboration and communication.

Requirements for success include at least 3 years of experience in communications, strong written and verbal skills, and excellent time management abilities.

A degree in communications or related field is preferred, along with Australian Citizenship and the ability to obtain a Baseline security clearance.
