External Budget Specialist Role

We are seeking a skilled External Budgets Specialist to join our organization. The successful candidate will work with business lines to develop and cost new policy proposals, submissions, and estimates.

The Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development of National Public Policies (NPPs)
  • Support the creation of Portfolio Budget Statements (PBS) and Parliamentary Appropriations Explanatory Statements (PAES)
  • Prepare forward estimates and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders
  • Provide technical advice on complex matters concerning ministerial correspondence

Your Skills and Experience

To be considered for this role, you must be an Australian Citizen with experience working in an external budgets area in the Australian Federal Government. You should demonstrate competency with CBMS and a solid understanding of the Federal Government budget process.

A strong communicator, you liaise comfortably with senior staff and can provide insight, guidance, and expertise on report writing for NPPs and other submissions.
