Melbourne, Victoria, Australia beBeeNavigator Full time $75,000 - $95,000

Ensuring equitable support for students with disabilities is a complex challenge that requires effective collaboration between parents, carers, school staff, and local services. As an NDIS Navigator, you will play a pivotal role in helping families access necessary resources and services.

The ideal candidate will possess exceptional interpersonal skills, strong communication abilities, and a deep understanding of the issues facing students with disabilities and their families. They will be responsible for fostering relationships with parents, carers, school staff, and local services, providing guidance and support to help families navigate the NDIS system.

This role requires autonomy, professional leadership, and minimal day-to-day direction. The successful candidate will:

  • Provide expert support and guidance to parents and carers, empowering them to understand, advocate for, and access NDIS funded services available to their children
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with parents, carers, school staff, and local services to facilitate collaborative working practices between schools, parents, carers, and the NDIS
  • Support seamless integration between NDIS funded services and the school, including providing information, documentation, and logistical support for approved therapist on-site visits

This position demands independence and accountability. The NDIS Navigator will not contact the National Disability Insurance Agency or NDIS funded agencies on behalf of families or carers, except in limited circumstances. They will also not act as an advocate for families, carers, and students in matters that are the responsibility of the school.

We strive to create a safe and inclusive environment for all students and staff. If you are passionate about supporting families and promoting accessibility, we encourage you to apply for this opportunity.
