Lead the Way in Rail Safety Management



CBP Contractors Pty Limited is seeking a highly experienced Rail Safety Manager to lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive rail safety management system for our Cross River Rail project. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, standards, and industry best practices.



About the Role



The Rail Safety Manager will be responsible for:




  • Developing, implementing, and maintaining a robust rail safety management system that meets CPB's RIM accreditation and other relevant regulations.
  • Developing, implementing, and maintaining rail safety interface plans with key stakeholders.
  • Providing technical direction, coaching, and guidance to project-based safety professionals and interfacing teams.
  • Conducting regular assurance activities to identify potential hazards and risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Investigating rail incidents and accidents, conducting thorough root cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions.
  • Developing and overseeing the delivery of safety training programs for rail designated workers.
  • Liaising with regulatory authorities, project, and industry stakeholders, and emergency service organisations to ensure compliance and maintain industry relationships.
  • Monitoring and reporting on safety performance metrics, identifying trends, and areas for improvement.
  • Providing leadership and guidance to the management team, fostering a collaborative and proactive safety culture.


What You Need



To be successful in this role, you will need:




  • Extensive experience as a WHS Practitioner in Rail/Construction with strong onsite experience.
  • A thorough understanding of relevant Rail Safety legislation and regulatory bodies.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and implement safety initiatives and programs.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong demonstrated experience in stakeholder engagement, including internal and external parties.
  • Confident leadership and team management skills.
  • A relevant degree, diploma, or certificate in Health and Safety.
