This position will kick-start your rail career and join an expanding busy team that continues to grow. You may be required to travel across South East Queensland (SEQ).

As a Rail Infrastructure Specialist, you will be responsible for performing heavy manual labor activities, including replacing railway sleepers, general laboring duties, and various other railway track maintenance activities. This role requires you to work in various weather conditions, especially hot temperatures.

About Our Team:

You will report to the Track Maintenance Coordinator and work with a supportive, engaged, and tight-knit team. The ability to work within a small team environment is essential for this role.

About the Role:

  1. Carry out laboring duties, ensuring track safety is maintained and other duties as directed by the supervisor when required.
  2. Ensure all work is carried out safely and efficiently.
  3. Travel and perform outdoor work throughout the region, often in challenging weather conditions and high temperatures, working a 9-day fortnight which may consist of 7 days and 2 nights.
  4. You will be rostered on to work every 2nd weekend and rostered off the other weekend.

About You:

  • Hold a current 'C' class driver's license.
  • Recent experience in a manual handling or physical laboring role.
  • A hard-working nature and a positive 'can-do' attitude.
  • Strong commitment to safety – your safety and the safety of those around you.
  • Flexibility to work and travel across the district and work weekends.
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently within a team.
  • Trackworker or welding experience is advantageous.
  • Front-end loader, excavator, skid steer, truck license, or other licenses/tickets are desirable.

Estimated Salary: $70,000 - $90,000 per annum
