About the Role

The Retirement Living Manager will oversee village operations, ensuring residents' independence and financial performance align with organizational requirements.

  • Ensure safety protocols are in place, including emergency systems and procedures.
  • Act as village lead in resident interactions, committees, and community engagement to support satisfaction.
  • Handle complaints efficiently and effectively.
  • Promote social and activity programs.
  • Contribute to strategic direction, including sale and marketing collaboration, asset management, and market trend knowledge.
  • Manage administration, finances, reporting, budgeting, P&L, and resident records.
  • Oversee maintenance, gardening coordination, and compliance with Workplace Health and Safety policies.
  • Foster excellent working relationships with stakeholders, including residents, families, SCCQ Home Care, RAC, and pastoral employees and contractors.

To succeed in this role:

  • Sales and marketing qualifications are desirable.
  • Previous experience in Retirement Living is essential.
  • A strong understanding of the Retirement Villages Act and Residential Home Care Packages is desirable.
  • Minimum 5 years of management experience is required.
  • Ability to interact with residents with respect, maturity, and empathy is crucial.
  • Strong leadership, operational team management, and client relationship skills are necessary.
  • Demonstrated financial planning and budgeting experience is essential.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills are required.
  • Strong conflict resolution and negotiation skills are necessary.
