Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Public Transportation Operator to join our team at Brisbane City Council. As a key member of our transportation network, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient movement of people around the city.

About the Role:

This is a full-time opportunity that requires you to be available Monday to Friday while completing the bus driver/operator induction program. Once qualified, you will be responsible for driving buses on designated routes, providing exceptional customer service to passengers, and adhering to all safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate buses safely and efficiently, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations
  • Provide excellent customer service to passengers, responding to their needs and concerns in a professional and courteous manner
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the bus at all times
  • Complete required training and certification programs as per council policies and procedures
  • Work collaboratively with other drivers and support staff to ensure seamless operations

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Have work rights status in Australia
  • Have held an Australian 'C' class car licence for at least three years
  • Be able to obtain a current ('G' class) from Queensland Government
  • Be able to obtain a HR licence from the Queensland Department of Transport
  • Have a clean driving history (i.e. not lost more than six demerit points in the past three years, or had a suspended licence or good behaviours period in the last four years, excluding SPER)
  • Be available full time Monday to Friday whilst completing the bus driver/operator induction program

Salary and Benefits:

The estimated salary for this role is between $60,000 - $80,000 per annum, depending on experience. You'll also enjoy benefits such as paid annual leave, sick leave, and access to training and development opportunities.
