About the Role:
- We are seeking an experienced professional with a strong background in transport operations to lead a team and deliver projects effectively and safely.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and assess road corridor applications and National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR) applications to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and Council procedures.
- Manage Council's rural road numbering, sign, and line marking programs to maintain efficient transportation networks.
- Lead a team of professionals to achieve transport operations objectives, promote safety, and enhance customer satisfaction.
- Prepare reports, advise on policies, and identify funding opportunities for transport projects to drive business growth and development.
- Collaborate with external stakeholders, including the Department of Transport and Main Roads, and other key agencies to build strong relationships and achieve shared goals.
About You:
- You will need a degree in Traffic Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field to excel in this role.
- With 5+ years of experience in transport operations or a related area, you should have expertise in managing projects, programs, and staff, as well as a keen understanding of relevant legislation and Council procedures.
- You must possess strong interpersonal and technical skills, budget management experience, and proficiency in Microsoft Office and Council software systems.
- The successful candidate will hold a Current Class C Driver's License, White Card, and be located in Australia.
