Key Responsibilities:
  1. Engage with parents, family members, children, or young people in a sensitive and respectful manner.
  2. Collaborate with other agencies and engage in complex problem-solving exercises.
  3. Assist families in formulating goals that align with their needs, addressing safety and well-being concerns, and provide suitable support through home visits.
  4. Develop safety plans and conduct risk assessments.
  5. Manage cases and situations, including working with high-needs and high-risk clients and their families.
  6. Participate in court processes, including the preparation of court documents and attending court hearings.
  7. Engage in individual and group supervision.

This role involves making difficult decisions with families to help them overcome challenges and establish safe and nurturing homes.

Applicants should possess relevant diploma or degree qualifications. Alternatively, applicants without relevant qualifications should have at least two years' experience working with vulnerable children, young people, and their families.

  • A strong ability to build positive working relationships, supported by excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • A valid driver's license.
  • A current paid Working with Children clearance number.
  • Documented verification of Aboriginality - confirmation that you are an Aboriginal person of Aboriginal descent and identify as being Aboriginal.
