Family Support Specialist

This is an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of vulnerable children and families.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and support safe family contact for young people in care ensuring their safety and well-being are prioritized
  • Write clear, detailed reports after each visit to support case management and decision-making
  • Collaborate with Case Managers to ensure the child's needs are met and develop effective care plans
  • Identify and report child protection concerns promptly and appropriately
  • Manage visits when not in the child's best interest prioritizing their safety and well-being
Requirements:
  • Diploma in Community Services or related field preferred but not required
  • Understanding of mandatory reporting and experience in Out of Home Care or similar environments
  • Valid Driver's Licence Working With Children Check First Aid and NDIS clearance
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to work effectively with diverse families
  • Able to manage conflict and collaborate with families from different backgrounds
  • Understanding of child safety and car restraint laws
  • Must be available for a range of shifts including mornings afternoons and occasional overnights
