Job Overview

As an Aboriginal Child Protection Specialist, you will engage in collaborative efforts to ensure the safety and well-being of vulnerable children and families.

  • Work closely with various agencies and develop strategic solutions to complex problems.
  • Support families in creating tailored plans that address their unique needs and concerns, utilizing regular home visits.
  • Develop and implement safety protocols, including thorough risk assessments.

You will be involved in legal proceedings, including document preparation and courtroom attendance. Participating in individual and group supervision is also a key aspect of this role.

Requirements
  • A relevant diploma or degree qualification is preferred.
  • Applicants without a relevant qualification require at least two years' experience working with vulnerable children, young people and their families.
  • The ability to build strong relationships, supported by excellent communication skills.
  • A valid driver's license.
  • A paid working with children clearance number.
  • Documented verification of Aboriginality - confirming your status as an Aboriginal person of Aboriginal descent and your self-identification as Aboriginal.
