Our team is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Family Support Specialist to join our ranks. As a key member of our support services, you will be responsible for supervising and facilitating safe family contact for young people in care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Transport and supervise family contact visits to ensure the best interests of the child are met.\
  • Prepare clear, detailed reports after each visit to inform case managers and other stakeholders.\
  • Support the development and implementation of care plans with Case Managers, prioritizing the needs of the child.\
  • Identify and report any concerns regarding child safety, adhering to mandatory reporting requirements.\
  • Manage visits when they do not align with the child's best interests, making informed decisions that prioritize their well-being.\
  • Collaborate with diverse families, applying conflict management strategies to promote positive outcomes.\
  • Ensure compliance with child safety and car restraint laws, maintaining a focus on the child's protection at all times.\
  • Be available for a range of shifts, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in your work schedule.\\

Requirements:

  • Diploma in Community Services or related field (preferred but not required).\
  • Understanding of mandatory reporting and experience in Out-of-Home Care or similar environments.\
  • Valid Driver's Licence, Working with Children Check, First Aid certification, and NDIS clearance.\
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with colleagues and families.\
  • Able to manage conflict and work with diverse families, fostering positive relationships and outcomes.\
  • Comprehensive knowledge of child safety and car restraint laws, ensuring the child's protection at all times.\\
