Job Title: Operations Director

About the Role:

This leadership position is a multi-faceted opportunity for someone looking to take on new challenges and apply their existing skills and experience in a key position within a growing market.

  • Leading and managing people while driving team performance and achieving goals
  • Making business decisions that impact overall performance, including target achievement, financial planning, budgeting, and cost management
  • Managing day-to-day operations, including quarry development, storm water and environmental management, and preventative maintenance schedules
  • Focusing on continuing our approach to rehabilitation and maintaining our reputation as a responsible and sustainable partner in the community
  • Bringing a strong safety mindset and managing high-risk activities to reduce risk exposure
About You:

You have a safety-first attitude with a total commitment to risk management and Zero Harm

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Quarry Management in a hard rock quarry environment
  • Relevant qualifications or ability to obtain them by meeting current requirements under the Mining & Quarrying Safety and Health Act 1999
  • Diploma in Extractive Industries or relevant tertiary qualifications (Mining, Geology, Engineering, Construction, or similar) and a Shot Firers ticket are desirable
  • Ability to support continuous improvement across the Supply Chain process to establish good performance through insight and innovative planning
  • A strong Leadership mentality with a demonstrated track record in delivering transformational change within a complex business environment
  • Capability to deliver exceptional negotiation and influencing skills when interacting with varying levels of internal and external stakeholders
  • You are a team player who can multitask and make quick effective decisions under pressure
  • You have a positive presence in building strong and effective relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
  • You have a high level of resilience and adaptability to changing situations
