
Culturally Sensitive Mental Health Specialist

Job Role
As a Mental Health Clinician, you will play a crucial role in providing specialist mental health services to individuals and groups.
The successful candidate will possess a strong understanding of clinical mental health assessment and evidence-based interventions, with the ability to develop collaborative individual care plans for people aged 25-65 years.
- Provide brief and ongoing interventions to support individuals in their recovery journey.
- Function autonomously, as well as work collaboratively with other clinicians, to participate in planning and development of services for people with mental health issues and their families.
- Utilize evidence-based, best practice interventions, comprehensive assessment and care planning to ensure high-quality service delivery.
- Contribute to clinical review and quality assurance processes to drive continuous improvement.
- Engage with business and professional development meetings, and contribute to community partnerships with key stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
Requirements:
- General registration as a Psychologist, Occupational Therapist (with mental health accreditation), or AASW Accredited Mental Health Social Worker registration.
- Demonstrated expertise in clinical mental health assessment and evidence-based interventions.
- Proven judgment and evaluation skills demonstrating assessment and care planning understanding.
- A sound understanding of public, non-government and private mental health systems and programs in a community setting.
- Ability to maintain accurate clinical records and demonstrate computer literacy.
- Understanding of duty of care, rights to privacy and confidentiality.
- A positive, solution-focused attitude with commitment to service improvement activities and personal clinical growth.
- Well-developed written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
This includes people with lived-experience of mental health recovery, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, LGBTQIA+, and people with disabilities.
