Who We Are

Murrumbidgee Local Health District (MLHD) Mental Health Services deliver specialist hospital and community care for people experiencing severe or complex mental illness. Services include inpatient treatment at Wagga Wagga Base Hospital and community mental health services across six regional centres, with programs spanning child and adolescent, youth, adult, older person and perinatal.

What You'll Be Doing

Using innovative, evidence-based skills and interventions, you will professionally support individuals seeking assistance with parents and carers of infants who have severe or complex mental health problems. You will take a trauma-informed approach and provide respectful, person-centred care, tailored to individual needs. Central to your role will be employing an individualised, holistic approach to care, incorporating comprehensive care planning to address the diverse physical, emotional, and social aspects of each person's journey. A Perinatal Infant Mental Health Clinician position offers a challenging and rewarding specialisation with a strong focus on human rights and intellectually stimulating work. Your contribution as a healthcare professional will have a meaningful and positive impact at the community level.

Criteria
  • Current tertiary qualifications in nursing, psychology or another recognised qualification with the Health Professionals Award and registration or eligibility for membership of the relevant peak professional association with a minimum of three years post-graduate experience in mental health with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) registration or eligibility for membership.
  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills and proven problem-solving ability within a clinical setting.
