
Supporting Advocate for Vulnerable Communities

The Office of the Public Guardian is an independent statutory office established to protect the rights and interests of adults with impaired decision-making capacity, and children and young people in the child protection system.
As a Legal Advisor in our Corporate and Legal Practice Team (CLPT), you will assist and support the Principal Legal Officer to provide advice and assistance to the Public Guardian (and their delegates) in relation to the discharge of the Public Guardian's statutory functions and exercise of statutory powers.
- Provide research-based legal advice to support the delivery of high-quality services.
- Assist in the coordination of external requests for information, ensuring timely and accurate responses.
- Review and advise on enduring documents, maintaining the integrity of client records.
- Contribute to the management of CLPT information and records, facilitating reporting on team activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Research policy and legal matters to inform advice and guidance.
- Coordinate high-priority external requests for information, collaborating with stakeholders.
- Advise on enduring documents, upholding the principles of responsible record-keeping.
- Manage information and records for the CLPT, supporting informed decision-making.
Requirements:
A Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Law is highly regarded. Your exceptional communication skills, analytical mindset, and ability to work collaboratively will be essential in this role.
