**About the Role**

The Family Support Coordinator is a key position within our organization, responsible for supporting the transition of children from early learning to Prep.

This involves working closely with classroom teachers, teacher aides, and specialist support staff to understand the child's needs and connect families with services that promote engagement with learning.

We are seeking an individual who can work effectively with vulnerable children from diverse backgrounds, including First Nations young persons with disability and young persons in care.

The successful candidate will assist school communities in advocating for these children and their families, ensuring they receive the necessary support to achieve improved learning outcomes.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Support the transition of children from early learning to Prep
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, teacher aides, and specialist support staff
  • Connect families with relevant services to promote engagement with learning
  • Advocate for vulnerable children and their families

**Required Skills and Qualifications**

To be successful in this role, you will have experience working in a culturally responsive manner with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and/or a willingness to learn and apply culturally appropriate approaches.

Knowledge of the regions demographic and local service providers and agency supports would be highly regarded.

You should also have knowledge of or capacity to develop knowledge of both the early learning sector and primary school environments to effectively support families and children within these sectors.
