About the Role

In this challenging yet rewarding position, you'll have the chance to:

  • Independently represent clients across a range of legal forums, leveraging your expertise in Administrative Law and NDIS Appeals.
  • Provide legal advice and task assistance, collaborate on law reform initiatives, and drive change in the legal landscape.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients experiencing complex vulnerabilities or trauma, ensuring their needs are met with compassion and understanding.

You'll work closely with colleagues to achieve our mission of providing quality, cost-effective legal services to financially disadvantaged people throughout Queensland.

Your Qualifications and Skills

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • Proven expertise in Administrative Law and NDIS Appeals, with experience in independently representing clients in various legal forums.
  • Strong communication skills, particularly when working with clients experiencing complex vulnerabilities or trauma.
  • A commitment to social justice and the ability to apply the principles of trauma-informed practice.
  • Admission or eligibility for admission as a Legal Practitioner in Queensland, alongside an unrestricted practising certificate.
  • Resilience, professional integrity, and a true passion for helping others navigate challenging legal terrains.
