About this Opportunity:

The HSE Advisor will support multiple projects in meeting Health, Safety and Environment management system requirements.

Key Objectives and Responsibilities Include:

  • Conduct workplace inspections and schedule compliance
  • Lead investigations of incidents and near misses
  • Conduct risk assessments and hazard analysis
  • Support health awareness and management initiatives
  • Assist in developing procedures and Safe Work Methods Statements
  • Support the reporting and communication of HSE trends
  • Coordinate fitness for work programs, including drug and alcohol testing


Requirements:

  • Hold a Construction safety induction (white card)
  • Have a Certificate IV, diploma or degree in Health, Safety & Environment, or similar discipline
  • Have a working knowledge of HSE legislation and regulations
  • Experience in conducting HSE incident investigations, utilising an industry recognised methodology
  • Experience in providing advice and support to management on operational matters relating to HSE
  • Experience in conducting audits and hold internal auditors training
  • Have an intermediate level of IT literacy, including the MS Office Suite
  • Be a team player with excellent communication skills


Achieving Success:

  • Bachelor's degree in Health, Safety and Environment
  • Postgraduate qualifications in Occupational Health and Safety
  • Professional certifications such as Certified Safety Practitioner (CSP) or Chartered Member of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (CMIOSH)
