About the Role

We're seeking a dedicated laboratory professional to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis. As a Laboratory Analyst, you'll be involved in sampling, preparation, and analysis of routine liquors, solids, alumina, and speciality product samples.

You'll utilise automated instrument systems to assist in your detailed laboratory analytical work, working largely unsupervised in a small, diverse technical team. Reporting to the Supervisor, you'll have varied duties and accountabilities, including:

  • Working in an industrial refinery taking process samples
  • Sample preparation and analysis using various techniques
  • Data entry, verification, and understanding the impact of results
  • Results management through Data Management systems, as well as interpretation and communication of results with operations
  • Calibration, maintenance, and housekeeping of laboratory equipment and facilities
  • Assisting in the training of laboratory personnel
What You Need

To succeed in this role, you'll need experience in analytical procedures such as GC, XRF, ICP, and general wet chemical analysis. Demonstrated knowledge of Data Management systems and various laboratory analytical equipment is also essential.

A minimum Graduate Certificate in Laboratory Practices or extensive experience working in a production laboratory environment is required. Well-developed communication skills, ability to work effectively as a team member, excellent safety awareness, and flexibility in working to operational needs are desired qualities.
