Electrical Design Leadership Opportunity

We are seeking a seasoned Electrical Design Engineer to oversee and deliver high-quality electrical engineering designs across industrial and infrastructure projects.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Develop electrical designs, including detailed drawings, schematics, cable schedules, and documentation using electrical CAD software.
  • Evaluate and ensure compliance with relevant Australian Standards, client specifications, and statutory regulations.
  • Maintain design quality through adherence to company procedures, peer reviews, and design checks.
  • Conduct and review electrical studies, including load flow, fault level, arc flash, and voltage drop analysis.
  • Review and approve designs, supplier documentation, and construction packages.
  • Provide input into project scoping, estimating, scheduling, and risk management.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure integrated design outcomes.
  • Provide technical direction and mentorship to junior engineers and designers.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum 8–10 years' experience in electrical design engineering, preferably in mining, oil & gas, utilities, or heavy industry sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of LV and HV electrical systems, equipment specifications, and design practices.
  • Proficient in electrical design tools such as Auto CAD, EPLAN, ETAP, or Power Tools.
  • Sound understanding of AS/NZS 3000, AS/NZS 3008, AS/NZS 61439, and other relevant standards.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proven ability to manage design deliverables across multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Current Australian working rights – Citizen / PR or Eligible Visa.
  • Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) or Registered Professional Engineer (RPEQ / RPEV).
