Optical Systems Expertise Opportunity

We seek a seasoned professional to spearhead the development of cutting-edge optical systems.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Lead studies, architecture definition, technology assessments, and system performance validation.
  • Define high-level system requirements and develop comprehensive subsystem specifications.
  • Develop models and simulations to validate system performance under real-world conditions.
  • Evaluate technologies across optics, sensors, electronics, and mechanical subsystems, integrating them effectively.
  • Collaborate with international experts and suppliers to ensure robust and innovative system designs.
  • Participate in risk analysis, strategic planning, and production deployment.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Optics, Physics, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in optronic or electro-optical systems, including imaging payloads, stabilised gimbals, tracking systems, or optical sensors.
  • Strong understanding of optical system principles, focal plane arrays (MWIR, SWIR, LWIR), sensor electronics, image processing, and real-time systems.
  • Familiarity with relevant modelling and simulation tools.
  • Proven ability to lead technical integration activities and manage interdisciplinary challenges.
  • Must hold security clearance on commencement, with the ability to obtain NV1.
