About the Role

The Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Travel Coordinator to join our team. As a Travel Coordinator, you will be responsible for coordinating travel and accommodation for patients and staff, ensuring that all arrangements are made in a cost-effective and efficient manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate Travel Arrangements: Book and arrange travel and accommodation for patients and staff, ensuring that all arrangements are made in accordance with Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service and Queensland Health policies.
  • Provide Advice and Support: Provide advice to clients on booking options and arrange, coordinate, and process accommodation, including amendments and non-standard accommodation requests as required.
  • Investigate Complex Applications: Recognize and investigate complex applications in preparation for the Director, Medical Services assessment, which may involve liaising with General Practitioners (GP), service providers, patients, carers, staff members, or key patient or staff travel stakeholders.
  • Exercise Sound Judgement: Exercise sound judgement and analytical skills when booking travel to ensure avoidable fees are prevented, saving opportunities are optimized, and compliance with Queensland Health travel policies and Patient Travel Subsidy Scheme is adhered to.
Requirements
  • Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge or the ability to rapidly acquire knowledge in relation to administrative and approval procedures in a travel environment, including cost-effective travel arrangements for patients and staff in accordance with Queensland Health policies and guidelines.
  • Information Systems and Databases: Demonstrated skills or the ability to rapidly acquire skills in the use of information systems and databases, including knowledge of accounts processing and compliance issues as they relate to staff and patient travel.
  • Communication and Consultation: Sound written and oral communication, negotiation, and consultation skills, and the ability to liaise with a broad range of client groups.
  • Autonomy and Teamwork: Demonstrated ability to operate autonomously as an effective member of a team, maintaining an effective workflow in an environment of deadlines, competing, and changing priorities.
