Commercial Opportunities

We are seeking a Senior Commercial Advisor to support all commercial aspects of contracts and relationships for the SSN-AUKUS program.

About the Program

The vision is to be Australia's sovereign submarine builder and maintainer, delivering on the nation's maritime strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic advice and ensure contract deliverables are met.
  • Lead contract administration tasks to ensure adherence to the program schedule and quality reporting.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to manage commercial outcomes.
  • Communicate program risks, commercial obligations, and opportunities to stakeholders.
  • Implement lessons learned from completed projects to establish the organization as a learning entity.

Essential Qualifications and Experience

  • Tertiary qualifications in law, commerce, business management, or a related field, or equivalent experience in a complex commercial setting.
  • A minimum of 8 years of post-graduate experience in a commercial, legal, or business advisory role.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing and developing complex contracts, including resolving difficult issues to achieve positive commercial outcomes.
  • Experience in drafting agreements and managing commercial risk.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, negotiation, and persuasion skills.
  • The ability to work autonomously, manage multiple priorities with limited direction, and build strong business relationships.
