
Senior Contract Negotiator

We are seeking a seasoned Commercial Lead to spearhead our procurement planning, tendering, contract formation, and ongoing contract management initiatives.
- This role will be instrumental in ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and policy frameworks, while providing timely and accurate advice on commercial, legal, financial, and technical matters.
The successful candidate will have a proven track record of successfully leading and managing teams, with the ability to supervise tasking at an APS6 level and foster collaboration in dynamic settings.
A key requirement for this role is a strong understanding of Commonwealth procurement policies, legislative frameworks, and Defence-specific governance requirements. The ideal candidate will be able to apply these effectively to ensure compliance and strategic alignment.

- Key Responsibilities:
- Lead procurement planning, tendering, contract formation, and ongoing contract management.
- Provide accurate and timely advice on commercial policy, legal, financial, and technical matters.
- Prepare high-quality procurement documentation, including reports, submissions, strategies, risk reviews, and contract change proposals.
- Engage with clients and stakeholders, manage complex enquiries, and negotiate contract issues with initiative and professionalism.
- Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience in commercial, business, or procurement roles within complex organisational environments.
- Proven track record of successfully leading and managing teams.
- Strong understanding of Commonwealth procurement policies, legislative frameworks, and Defence-specific governance requirements.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills.
