Job Title: Head of Workplace Relations

McDonald's Australia is seeking a highly experienced and skilled professional to lead our Workplace Relations function. As the Head of Workplace Relations, you will be responsible for developing and implementing workplace relations strategies that align with our business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement workplace relations strategies to ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations.
  • Provide expert advice on employment law and regulatory compliance to McDonald's People Leaders.
  • Lead the Workplace Relations Team to ensure effective management of workplace relations matters.
  • Collaborate with the legal counsel on complex case management, investigations, and matters in Courts and Tribunals.
  • Deliver employee relations best-practice presentations to various audiences, including Senior Leadership and Licensees.
Requirements:
  • Highly experienced in Workplace and Industrial Relations with a strong understanding of current and historical employment law.
  • Demonstrable project management and cross-functional excellence to implement compliance solutions.
  • Demonstrated experience in liaising with employer associations, government representatives, and union representatives across the full spectrum of workplace and industrial relations matters.
  • Demonstrated experience in advocacy and preparing submissions, including involvement in Fair Work Commission (FWC) matters, FWC reviews, and briefing legal counsel.
  • An experienced investigator who is familiar with the principles of conducting accurate and fair investigations.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to lead a Team with integrity and curiosity, paired with the ability to challenge the status-quo in a respectful way and driven by achieving shared success.
