We operate seven ports on the east coast of Australia and a joint-venture port in Vancouver, Canada, enabling high-speed long-distance rail export capability. Our processing businesses cater to food customers with edible oils, while our bulk commodity business is Australia and New Zealand's largest exporter of tallow and Used Cooking Oil (UCO), some of which is processed for upcycling into biofuel.

About the Role

The Head of Relationships - Sales will be based in one of Australia's most progressive workspaces, the International Towers, and will be part of the GrainCorp Nutrition and Energy Leadership team. This role involves leading a team of customer-focused sales and services individuals to drive sales across the Nutrition & Energy product ranges.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain sales budgets and sales forecasts, providing inputs into Integrated Business Planning and longer-term strategic planning processes.
  • Develop sales strategy, including plan, process, and methodology, with clarity of roles to support effectiveness.
  • Drive the wider implementation of an Integrated Business Planning process within the sales teams.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with customers across the Nutrition and Energy product categories.
  • Give direction to the Sales & Customer Service teams to optimize overall productivity and performance.
  • Leverage real, verified data to assist in decision-making processes.
  • In conjunction with Product Category Heads, identify, evaluate, and execute new business opportunities.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to modify existing products and services to accommodate new customers and potential revenue streams.
  • Collaborate with the Head of Marketing to develop, implement, and evaluate marketing initiatives across Nutrition and Energy product categories.
  • Understand customer landscape and develop go-to-market strategies for lead generation, monitoring, and conversion.

About Your Experience

We are seeking a candidate with a proven track record in either an Agribusiness, FMCG, F2B, or B2B sector. You will have tertiary qualifications in marketing, economics, business, or a related discipline and hold contemporary views around business development. Key to your success will be:

  • An understanding of agricultural markets.
  • Previous experience within a customer-focused digital transformation.
  • Ability to use a range of strategies and skills to create and coach a highly motivated, results-oriented team.
  • Collaborative with exceptional communication skills.
