Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the legal, compliance, and risk management functions to ensure the team provides legal and compliance expertise to assure ongoing compliance with local, regional, and global internal and external requirements.
  • Drive and foster the local comprehensive Compliance Management Program.
  • Oversee, monitor, and support general group compliance and compliance risk management matters across business operations.
  • Local lead to regional and global Roche Legal and Compliance teams.
  • Providing verbal and written legal and compliance advice on various topics including complex contract matters.
  • End-to-end management of assigned compliance investigations.
  • Development and delivery of legal and compliance training.
  • Managing and mitigating legal and compliance issues.
  • Governing the company corporate secretarial topics and corporate housekeeping matters as the responsible person.
Requirements
  • You are degree qualified in law, an admitted legal practitioner in Australia, and have a current legal practicing certificate for New South Wales or have the eligibility to immediately apply for such certification.
  • Extensive post-admission legal practice experience, ideally gained in a top-tier law firm or corporate environment supporting companies in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, consumer goods, or healthcare industry.
  • Demonstrated people leadership experience, you develop people to meet both their career goals and the organization's goals.
  • Must demonstrate significant previous experience supporting corporate contract development and management.
  • Previous experience/exposure to corporate Risk & Opportunity Management is valued.
  • Makes sense of complex, high quantity, and sometimes contradictory information to effectively solve problems.
  • Anticipates and balances the needs of multiple stakeholders while building partnerships and working collaboratively to meet shared objectives.
  • Manoeuvres comfortably through complex policy, process, and people-related organizational dynamics.
  • Holds self, team, and others accountable to meet commitments.
  • Paints a compelling picture of the vision and strategy that motivates others to action.
