Job Overview

A key role in our organization is that of a Cost Management Specialist. We are regularly tendering for projects and seek expressions of interest from experienced professionals to assist with upcoming consulting opportunities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the cost control processes, including accurate collection, recording, and reporting of forecast project costs.
  • Assist with submissions to funding authorities.
  • Contribute to cost planning and cost control, including budget allocation, core forecasting, cash flow forecasting, cost review, variance analysis, and cost reporting across work programs.
  • Assist with cost planning and cost control across delivery teams, ensuring integration with planning and scheduling, financial accounting, and commercial functions.
  • Implement and maintain cost control systems and procedures in accordance with established procedures across software platforms.
  • Apply best practice techniques for project monitoring, analysis, and change control.
  • Interface with other team members, consultants, advisors, partners, contractors, and government participants through clear communication to promote effective cost management of the program.
Mandatory Experience
  • At least 5 years' experience as a Cost Controller / Estimator on industrial or commercial construction projects; or at least 2 years on civil roads infrastructure construction projects with any Australian state government authority or council (preferably in Queensland).
Desirable Experience
  • Prior experience with DTMR or urban or regional QLD councils.
  • Experience with disaster funding arrangements, which can be expressed in your cover letter as a significant advantage.
Qualifications
  • Any qualification supporting your application should be noted in your resume and will be considered.

Important Note: Overseas candidates without mandatory experience are unable to be considered. A current QLD/Australian driver's license is required. The roles are typically located in the Brisbane & greater QLD region, with hours nominally 40 per week (5-day week, ~8 hours per day), subject to project requirements.
