About the Job

This role focuses on ensuring compliance with group HSE standards and statutory obligations. Key responsibilities include:

  • Mentoring site supervisors through regular site visits to ensure effective implementation of SHEMS.
  • Collating reports on incidents and safety statistics for corporate reporting.
  • Assisting in conducting accident investigations using ICAM methodology.
  • Participating in OHS committees and forums to ensure sites comply with Group Standards and the Enterprise Agreement.
  • Providing input on system improvements and initiatives to ensure legal and statutory compliance.
  • Reviewing contractor Safety plans and submissions to ensure compliance with Qube requirements.
  • Implementing Qube safety strategies by developing site safety plans and monitoring their effectiveness.
  • Planning and leading risk assessment processes for operations, working environment, and work practices.
  • Working closely with the State SHE Manager to implement corporate governance processes.
  • Managing Qube's environmental management system to ensure compliance with Group standards and statutory obligations.
  • Providing advice on vehicle access regimes, route planning, and driver assessment process.
  • Managing return-to-work cases in conjunction with the State SHE Coordinator.
  • Developing and reviewing specific SWI/SWMS with relevant site personnel and SMEs as required.

About You

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • Previous transport industry experience (optional), with a willingness to train and upskill.
  • Qualifications in Occupational Health and Safety.
  • Advanced skills using Microsoft Office, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable in a demanding environment.
  • Environmental qualifications are beneficial.
  • Training/Auditing Qualifications would be well regarded.
  • Excellent planning and problem-solving skills.
  • A team player with an ability to influence outcomes from a support role.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and communication abilities.
  • Ability to work autonomously and proactively resolve tasks.
  • Reliability, teamwork, and a 'can-do' attitude.
  • Strong data entry and accuracy skills.
  • Outstanding attention to detail, time management, and organisation skills.
  • Focused and compliant with all safe work practices.
