Safety, Health & Sustainability Coordinator Position

This role is based in North Fremantle, offering a full-time opportunity for the right candidate. We are seeking an individual with a strong background in occupational health and safety to join our team as a Safety, Health & Sustainability Coordinator.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Ensure compliance with group HSE standards and statutory obligations by conducting audits and developing action plans.
  • Mentor and coach site supervisors to implement SHEMS effectively.
  • Collate reports on incidents, safety statistics, recordable injuries, lead and lag indicators for corporate reporting purposes.
  • Investigate accidents and incidents using ICAM methods, ensuring thorough documentation and monitoring.
  • Participate in OHS committees and forums, facilitating meetings at sites under your responsibility according to Group Standards and the Enterprise Agreement.
  • Provide recommendations for system improvements and initiatives to ensure legal and statutory compliance, participating in management reviews of SHEMS.
  • Review contractor safety plans and submissions to ensure compliance with Qube requirements, completing audits of contracting companies.
  • Implement Qube safety strategies, assisting in the development of site safety plans and monitoring their completion and effectiveness.
  • Plan and lead risk assessment processes, developing plans to minimize risks in operations, working environments, current work practices, and procedures.
  • Work closely with the State SHE Manager to ensure corporate governance processes and protocols are implemented within the business units.
  • Manage Qube's environmental management system, ensuring compliance with Group standards and statutory obligations.
  • Provide advice and support on vehicle access regimes, route planning, and driver assessment processes.
  • Manage return-to-work cases in conjunction with the State SHE Coordinator.
Requirements and Qualifications:
  • Prior transport industry experience preferred but not required; willingness to train and upskill the right candidate.
  • Qualifications in occupational health and safety.
  • Advanced skills using Microsoft Office, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable in a demanding environment.
  • Environmental qualifications would be beneficial.
  • Training/auditing qualifications would be well regarded.
  • Excellent planning and problem-solving skills.
  • A team player with the ability to influence outcomes from a support role.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with various individuals.
  • Ability to work autonomously using a proactive approach to task resolution.
  • Reliable, team-oriented, and possessing a can-do attitude.
  • Strong data entry and accuracy.
  • Outstanding attention to detail, time management, and organisational skills.
  • Focused and compliant with all safe work practices.

Estimated Salary Range:

$70,000 - $100,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
