The Dandenong site specializes in the manufacture and supply of rigid plastic packaging for the consumer sector. We are seeking a Workplace Health and Safety Specialist to oversee and drive the consistent implementation of health and safety systems across the Dandenong site, ensuring compliance with legal and ethical obligations.
As a health and safety expert on site, you will connect site activities with group-level initiatives and champion the implementation of health and safety policies and procedures. This includes communicating with site management, conducting inspections and audits, supporting hazard assessments, and overseeing incident investigations and root cause analysis.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Providing oversight of health, safety, and environmental incidents, supporting investigations and root cause analysis.
- Monitoring and driving activities related to regulatory compliance, recommending continuous improvements.
- Planning and implementing health and safety programs, identifying common hazards and establishing guidelines for control.
- Promoting a zero-harm culture by providing expert advice, support, and driving the implementation of health and safety policies and procedures.
- Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation, codes of practice, and associated obligations.
- Skills in hazard identification, risk management, and investigation.
- Experience in implementing, monitoring, and auditing health and safety or environmental management systems.
- High computer literacy and administrative skills.
- Experience working in manufacturing environments, preferably within a large multinational company.
