About the Role

The Product Manager for Retail Operations plays a crucial role in overseeing market interactions between Solstice Energy and various stakeholders, including billing systems and market entities. This position ensures that customer accounts are managed in compliance with market regulations and addresses any system challenges to facilitate the effective achievement of operational goals.

Reporting to the Head of Customer Service & Operations, the Product Manager will serve as the authority on electricity market interactions, ensuring accurate updates to customer accounts and market communications. This role acts as a vital link between the customer service and billing teams and market providers.

Key Responsibilities

The Product Manager's responsibilities encompass both external stakeholder engagement and essential daily operational tasks, which are vital for Solstice Energy to meet its operational and customer service objectives. The Product Manager will collaborate closely with the customer at the core of our mission.

Operational Duties

  • Manage market-related inquiries and prioritize customer-specific service requests as they arise.
  • Comprehend interaction protocols between Solstice and key vendors to ensure seamless operations within the Australian Energy Market.
  • Provide guidance and support to the broader Retail team regarding market interactions, service requests, and AEMO-related transactions.
  • Work alongside the Solstice IT team to assist in planning and executing system upgrades, addressing issues with key systems as needed.
  • Ensure all tasks are performed in accordance with compliance requirements.

Leadership Responsibilities

  • Plan, oversee, and coordinate workflows with the Head of Customer Service & Operations, ensuring team service delivery aligns with customer and stakeholder expectations.
  • Act as an external representative for the team when a cohesive approach is necessary.
  • Proactively initiate and enhance quality improvements to team practices and processes.
  • Provide effective support and motivation to team members.

Qualifications and Skills

  • A minimum of three years' experience in a role focused on the technical aspects of the Australian Electricity Market.
  • Prior experience or familiarity with MSATS and energy market interactions.
  • Ability to adopt a solution-oriented approach to technical challenges and integrate these solutions into standard operations.
  • Capacity to adapt and work effectively in diverse environments.
  • Strong interpersonal, negotiation, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent analytical, planning, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to establish and work within agreed priorities and delegate effectively to achieve results within set timeframes.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • High level of professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Proven ability to excel in a customer service-focused environment.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated capacity to thrive both independently and collaboratively in challenging situations.
  • Willingness to travel to other Solstice Energy locations as necessary.

Educational Background

  • A tertiary qualification in information technology is highly regarded.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the Australian Electricity and Gas Markets and the platforms that support them.
