We are seeking a Chef to join our culinary team at a renowned resort in the Mid North Coast of NSW. The successful applicant will be responsible for managing a section of the kitchen, assisting the Executive Chef, and preparing, cooking, and presenting à la carte dishes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Executive Chef with all aspects of kitchen operations including menu planning, food preparation, and presentation.
  • Prepare, cook, and present a variety of à la carte dishes that meet the high standards of quality and consistency.
  • Enforce service standards to ensure a positive dining experience for guests.
  • Order stock, kitchen supplies, and equipment, and control stock levels to minimize waste and maximize efficiency.
  • Assist with ongoing staff training and development to improve skills and knowledge.
  • Receive, sign, and account for supplies and deliveries to ensure accurate inventory management.
Requirements:
  • Trade Qualifications and practical experience in commercial cooking and kitchen management.
  • Able to work well under pressure and maintain a professional manner during peak periods.
  • Excellent presentation and consistency in both work and personal life.

In addition to the full-time chef position, we are also seeking an Apprentice Chef to commence a Commercial Cookery apprenticeship. The successful applicant will learn advanced culinary and knife skills, gain knowledge of ingredients and cookery methods, use commercial equipment, and prepare and cook menu items.

Apprentice Chef Requirements:
  • Passion for food and culinary career.
  • Able to work well under pressure and maintain a professional manner.
  • Able to work well within a team and take instructions/direction well.
  • Excellent presentation and consistency in both work and personal life.
  • Positive attitude, honesty, reliability, and strong work ethic.
  • Able to comply with company policies, procedures, and departmental standards and guidelines.
  • Driver's Licence or on the path to getting your Licence.
