Role Overview

The Strategic Capital Advisor will play a pivotal role in executing key responsibilities and supporting the broader capital community to drive the capital performance of the Suncorp Group. This position requires an individual with exceptional analytical and modelling skills, as well as strong stakeholder management abilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monthly Performance Reporting: Provide comprehensive reporting on capital positions by Australian and NZ entities, covering capital sufficiency, balance sheet, risk appetite considerations, and reinsurance.
  • Capital Budget and Forecasting: Develop and maintain accurate capital budgets and 3-year forecasts.
  • Risk Identification and Mitigation: Identify potential risks and opportunities to the capital budget and develop strategies for mitigation.
  • Capital Performance Monitoring: Monitor capital performance against budget, rolling reforecast, and identified risks and opportunities.
  • Compliance and Reporting: Ensure compliance with Non-Operating Holding Company (NOHC) conditions and provide timely reporting.
  • Consolidation Support: Provide support on consolidation of the Group's capital position and related capital management activities.
  • Dividend Forecasting and Analysis: Develop and maintain accurate dividend forecasting models and perform scenario analysis.
  • Capital Impact Assessment: Assess the impact of portfolio and reinsurance strategic initiatives on capital.

    Requirements

    • Recognised Accounting/Actuarial degree or similar - Mandatory
    • Chartered Accountant or qualified/nearly qualified actuary - Desired
    • At least 5 years of experience in an insurance/capital role - Required
    • Strong stakeholder and project management skills
    • Excellent communication and influencing skills, both verbal and written
    • Strong analytical and modelling skills
    • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements (accounting and actuarial)

      Estimated Salary Range:$120,000 - $180,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
