We offer a highly competitive salary range for this role, approximately $120,000 - $180,000 per annum, depending on experience.

Job Description

As a Business Risk Manager in our Private Markets Risk team, you will play a critical role in supporting the Real Estate investment team and developing an understanding of QIC's other private market investment classes. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Investment Review: Reviewing investment recommendations and forming an independent view on the appropriateness of risks and returns.
  • Reporting and Monitoring: Ensuring appropriate reporting and monitoring of investment transactions across the QIC private markets investment teams.
  • Risk Management: Monitoring and escalating risks in investment processes, including controls, segregation of duties, process design, and erroneous/fraudulent activity.
  • Valuation Analysis: Analysing independent valuations and challenging valuers on the appropriateness of assumptions and outcomes.
  • Risk-Related Matters: Assisting with risk-related matters on new client mandates, RFPs, business development, and asset-related strategic initiatives.
  • Allocation Protocols: Ensuring allocation protocols are managed, adhered to, and updated accordingly.
  • Deal-by-Deal Compliance: Coordinating and leading the preparation of deal-by-deal mandate compliance and quarterly compliance requests.
  • Risk Oversight: Supporting private markets investment teams with reporting, policy development and implementation, risk oversight, and escalation of breaches and incidents.
  • Quarterly Risk Profiles: Assisting with the preparation of quarterly risk profiles and key risk registers, ensuring models are accurately classified and documented.
About You

To be successful in this role, you will have experience in real estate and private markets, excellent stakeholder management abilities, and a passion for private market asset classes. You should possess sound judgment, strong analytical skills, and the following qualifications:

  • Tertiary qualification in Finance, Economics, Business, or Accounting.
  • Solid understanding of real estate valuations and development feasibilities.
  • Highly developed analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Sound proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint, with a keen interest in PowerBI and Pitchbook.
  • High attention to detail, methodical, and accurate.
  • Ability to meet deadlines, think independently, and have an inquisitive mindset.
